2/22/10- I've been a huge fan of the Pretender since the beginning, and wrote a lot of my fanfics while it was airing. Then I got busy with college and working, and it sadly fell by the wayside. I've had a few favorite shows since the Pretender (namely Alias, Smallville, Dollhouse, and Lost Girl), but none that affected me so strongly that I wrote fics for them. I did write 2 for The Lost World, but that's it. The Pretender is just special, I guess.
I recently got all 4 seasons and the 2 movies on DVD, and watched them all within less than a month! =) It's safe to say my Pretender obsession is back stronger than ever, and rewatching it all definately inspired me to pick up the pen again... currently working on another story (and probably more) for the Cooking with Madeline series, continuing where we left off in season 3 (with a brief jump back to season 2 for a Toy Surprise- inspired part). And with any luck, I'll finish another story or two I had plans for, but never got around to finishing outside of my overactive little head. My favorite characters are Miss Parker, Angelo, and Thomas... originally, Mr Lyle was my absolute favorite but rewatching it all now, it's hard to see past all his evil like I could back when it was spread out over a couple of seasons. LOL
I like to write my fics while listening to the Pretender soundtrack, along with a couple other songs that remind me of the Pretender... like Broots' P-Funk. =)
Then I was a student, now I'm a 30something chef with 2 cats I'm crazy about. It's a crazy job but I love it. I'm a total night owl. I was so psyched when I found this site and realized all my stories are still around, as well as many of the authors I knew way back when. I'm slowly getting caught up on all the great new fics and authors here, as well as exploring all the other great pieces of the PretenderCentre.
If anyone's interested in being my beta reader, please let me know. I'll be happy to be yours, too.
6/27/13- and I'm back, yet again! Ran across the #ThePretenderLives tag on twitter and hearing that Craig and Steve have something new Pretender-related in the works brought my Pretender obsession back with the biggest vengeance! And I'm really hoping that it'll be the push I need to actually finish the Madeline series once and for all. *hangs head*
Feel free to find me on twitter- @DoccubusDani or tumblr- http://MissParkersBunny.tumblr.com/ I post a lot about Lost Girl, Orphan Black, The Fosters, and the Pretender, of course. :) And when if you do, feel free to bug me about finishing the series. :)
Well, I'm hoping that the Pretender revival will get you back here and writing again, like it did me! I want to know how it ends. :)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedThat is a very good reason for the late night phone calls. =) Good job- I never thought of it that way!
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedYou have an amazing way with details- reading it is a joy so far. =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace Signed"Sydney even suspected—though he was sure that Parker would never admit to this—that her decision to sedate Jarod had been an act of mercy meant to spare him a few hours of Lyle’s depravity before returning to the Centre." ---> Most definately must be it! =)
I'm on the edge of my seat over here.
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedOkay, Jarod's got Angelo and Sydney on his side, I'm getting hopeful that this'll all turn out all right for our poor Pretender! =)
Still enjoying this immensely.
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedOh, that escape attempt was heartbreaking!
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedIt sucks that it took something so horrible happening to finally make Miss Parker come around. She was so nice to him during the procedure.
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedOh, this cliffhanger is just cruel!!! Why couldn't I have found this fic after it was finished?! Now I have to wait... bah humbug.
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedI say DEFINATELY continue! It was extremely well written and I enjoyed every minute of it. =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedI love the idea of Miss P being around during their young adult years for something like this to happen. :)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedI thought your English was great! It flowed very well, and made for an easy and very enjoyable read. =) I loved seeing things from a Sweepers POV.
"Also, there are a lot of rumours floating around. We sweepers talk to each other, therefore we know more than most of the "high and mighty" think we do." <---- I can totally see the Sweepers gossiping! LOL
Definately looking forward to reading more of your work after this.
Thank you, I got great help from my beta so I can't take all the credit for the English.
I wish I had more work for you to read, suffer from the writer's block from hell. However, kind reviews are a great motivator, so hopefully I'll write some more :)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedOn a rainy evening Miss Parker finds herself embarking on a journey she did not think she would ever undertake. Least of all with Jarod by her side...
"Miss Parker wasn't one to scream girlishly, but being caught so completely off guard, she winced and gave a yelp of surprise when her eyes flew open and found Jarod sitting next to the tub, a smug smile on his face."- I love that! It's so Miss Parker. =) Love the MP-J interactions. Great start to the story, I look forward to reading the rest. =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedThomas' house! *sniff sniff* =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedAww, I knew Parker had it in her! Even though there's no evil Miss P clone like I thought, it's still a great story and I love how MP and J are working together. =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedDammit! You and your cliffhangers! It's 4am and I was planning on going to bed but now I HAVE to see why! haha =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedEvil, evil woman! But I am going to bed now! Luckily I have tomorrow off so I can finish this (after sleeping really late). =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedUh oh! So much for only reading one chapter before bed again! Haha =) I love where Jarod and Miss P's relationship is going.
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedGreat ending! I wonder, did her towel slip during that super hot kiss? ;)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedVery well written story! Loved all the twists and turns that kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat (and up way past my bedtime ;). I thought for sure Miss P would adopt Amanda, though!
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedYes, actually, that was what I wanted you to say! :p Jarod and Miss Parker forever! <3
But seriously, this was a great little scene. =) Loved seeing Jarod experience something for the first time. Makes me long for warmer weather so I can go to the beach again.
I'm starting at the top and working my way through all your stories again to get myself reaquainted. =) This was a great start.
Oh I'm so glad you loved it! Funny how someone else can write a story and suddenly you have this crazy idea which is what happened here. This little story was such a detour from my normal mode of writing.
As for going to the beach, I'd love to join you!
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedWho sees the world in true colours?
Aww, that was sweet. =) I've come to love Angelo the best!
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedI love how even with amnesia, Miss P is still Miss P at times, and then surprised at what comes out of her own mouth. LOL
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedGreat job again! I loved the little bit about Debbie cooking and mentioning the ice cream. I knew Miss P must really have amnesia- didn't think she'd be able to kiss Jarod so much if she was really just faking! ;) Hopefully Sam will really be on her side like I always thought he was, and help her and Jarod figure it out.
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace SignedI love how Broots is starting to man up! =)
Reviewer: Danielle SmileyFace Signed"Some even seemed to fear me. I wouldn’t have thought so, but I sort of liked it." <-- that's great!
