Amazing. I love that tender, emotional scene when Avery tells her mother that no one there with them will ever laugh at her when she falls and Parker's reaction that is spot on Parker. I think Parker must feel torn apart here between this real peronsa she is with Avery, Eli, and Stella and the persona that she still seems to be trying to put up for Jarod. I love that Stella is stunned by Parker's reaction to seeing Jarod present and right in front of her suddenly and she had no preparation for that. I know why he did what he did and I'm glad he's finally realizing how much he hurt her. It hurts to see her that hurt and I know why she's that hurt and I don't expect her to be over it soon. I think she wanted a reason that he faked his death but I think she's a scared to know that the reason is a truly deep love. He's right. In an earlier chapter he told her she'd never known what to do with him. Intriguing as always Mirage.

ugh this is a sucker gut punch. I know I haven't reviewed any of your work until now. I've been a shy lurker and then I thought how courageous all authors are and decided to tell you how I feel. I feel really upset by this and really honored that I got to read this. Your prose is beautiful.

Intriguing and terrifying first chapterr. This is my kind of start to the new year. The lights, the anger on the faces, Jarod abused by the cops... ahhh I see, hear, taste, feel it all. I need more.
Reviewer: Joni Signed...and there you go besting yourself. I *thought* the first chapter was amazing... the second chapter is even more amazing. Miss Parker in the house!
Thanks, Joni.

This is just wow .. so mesmerizing and professionally written and edited, and you are actually an author offline, too. I can tell. I'd love to read any of your books. I love all of your stories here too. My favorite series meets my favorite author and I'm glad you watched this series and became a fan of it because if you hadn't been a fan ...I hate to think of no new Pretender stories, none as intriguing and exquisite as yours. More, please, and thank you. I'm really grateful that you're writing and sharing.
Thanks, Joni.

Mesmerizing. You're one of those authors who always takes my hand and pulls me into the story. I forget where I am and my surroundings and become immersed in the images you create and evoke.
I like the darker stories where Jarod is darker and you write those scarily plausible and remarkably well, but there is something to be said about your outstanding ability to write Jarod and Miss Parker in a loving and understanding relationship. I was worried when he broke into her home and broke into Xander's. Obviously those Jarod and Miss Parker, and Jarod especially, has demons and I've always thought the bitterness, pain, feelings of betrayal and his darkness could easily lead to him doing something horrible to Miss Parker.
But that didn't happen in this series of yours and as much as I enjoy the canon aspect of those two being on opposing sides and bickering and how you write them more close to canon I also love how you carefully bring them together slowly. It takes time and work. You show that. It must be hard to show that, to have to write how they must reconcile all of the crap they've been through.
It's not cheesy, it's not rushed, it's still, and realistically so, a day to day effort for them. Things can't change for them for the better at the snap of a finger.
Amazing.
Thank you so much for this. It's a pleasure. Please continue.

What blows me away is your spot on characterisations and how all senses are impacted when I read you. It's like watching, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling, etcc.... That's the thing also that I don't like sometimes... it all being real enough to touch and taste as it's quite terrifying and this isn't an insult to you... that's the reading experience. Authors should be able to transport and you excel in doing so. You are an outstanding author and that's why I'm still trembling after reading this. I await impatiently the complete series of these no longer missing pieces.Thank you.
