I saw the review response where you said you might as well drop the medical drama and oh my god are you serious? Someone said you didn't like MTW but now I'm curious and I think it isn't true. You always yank me back me. OMG. I like that Miss P saved the day here by saving Jarod. Saving Jarod helped Jarod help Sydney. Miss P also helped Jarod help Sydney hands on and they do work together well. I feel the chemistry between the characters. I love you for that!
Really complicated things happened but maybe they can work it out. I love that Miss Parker really saved the day. Hero! Right on time for women's day!

Oh, wow, phenomenal writing here like always Mirage. Gah, I'm envious.
Aversion therapy explains so much and I prefer that as a way to go forward than if Parker were just really bad like she is on the tv show, but assuming this had happened she wouldn't have to feel like she needed to be forgiven. I always imagined that for her and Jarod to be eventually be together she would feel really obligated to be really sorry and like she has to earn his love and try to compensate to be worthy. I hated that thought when I was younger watching the tv. I like this so much more.
The Ementine drug causes vomiting and naseau and can cause ulcers and other problems. My shrink uncle knows about this therapy. He asked to see this and I showed him. He didn't realize it was fanfic but after reading you has a really high opinion of fanfic. I love that Jarod's reaction to Parker being tortured with this therapy is the very reaction Parker would have had all the times they showed her pictures of Jarod, or whatever is was, to make her averse to him. Vomiting. I hope I'm not wrong to assume much. Jarod's thoughts were that they punished her because of him and Raines wanted her loyalty so they had to do something to turn her from Jarod.
You give us all of the details but do it in just a few words.
The horror show part, Miss Parker having to help Jarod. I asked my shrink uncle if he knew why Jarod would want the uninjured eye bandaged too and gah you are a genius! You're really familiar with first aid and medicine. The eyes would both track and that could injure the already big mess going on in Sydney's eye. You gotta bandage both. I get stabilizing the object and not removing it and especially not in a dirty place like that. The ng tubes... oh, gah. Force feeding or was that for torture purpose only?
My mind can't stop thinking.

Ohhhh, wooot! Mirage is back! "women frighten me" so much this. I love it. I like that Jarod has women's backs and I love that you know that Jarod would have our backs lol. You're not the Jarod hater I thought you were and I guess you've been trying to tell us that for a while. This helps.
SO, omg. Aversion therapy and tampering like that would explain why MP always forgets that Jarod helped her and her daddy betrayed her like the very next episode lol. And that the drug used in the aversion therapy could have caused the ulcer... wow!

Reading your description of how Jarod reacted to Parker's tears reminded me of their graveyard scene when he almost lost it and then took a deep breath and lifted an eyebrow and then he totally ran from there because it was just too much. He took a breath so deep his chest moved. So I think that's what he did in this scene too that you wrote. OMG. Amazing. That Jarod vomited too when he realized what had been done to her, that she had been given a drug that made her vomit tons over the years ^I googles it^ is a stroke of genius on your part. He reacted to her vomiting presumably after being induced to vomit as a react to Jarod. That's like the ultimate in Jarod feeling what she had felt then. It wasn't her fault, and realizing his own wrongs because he was tormenting her all those years under the assumption that rejecting him was a choice, but it wasn't really completely her choice. Even if she hadn't been drugged, coercion was involved.
The visuals are amazing.
I'm so super glad that Syd is ok for now. I love the details you impart like how he's speaking German and asking for his mother. It tells something about the state of his mind and the trauma.
This was so rich in detail and craftsmanship. You're a wordsmith and I'm an addict. I need more. You go places I'd never thought of. I want more. I need more.

I'm on stay-at-home-holiday and I gotta say that I would have done that a lot less often in the past if I'd known I'd be staying at home to stay well and avoid dying in a pandemic because of maskholes for a friggin' year and into the unknown future.
I checked in here just to see if maybe you were writing and here you are writing. OMG Mirage what would I do without you? I can't say enough good things about your stories, how tightly woven to brilliance they are and your writing voice that assures me you've got this.
