I've never seen two people holding on to each other like they are broken and needing each other to stay afloat and alive. It's like it's more something that they needed than wanted. I have chilll bumps all over my body and my chest felt a weird something flapping its wings inside me. I sobbed a little. They are hurt and afraid. They don't know how to be parents and didn't want to be. Maybe they still don't want to be if I tell a truth about this because my feelings aren't going to change overnight and neither are theirs. I think it's duty right now and wanting to protect her from the word. Love takes a little while. Like my namesake said a few chapters before these things don't change just because the circumstances have. Ohhhh. My heart. Powerful writing and characters. Stoked that Jarod tried to give Parker an easy out by telling Cate she was tired and that came from a place of love and concern and not an attempt to control Parker. My militant feminist heart thudded for a moment thinking he was mansplaining but no I remember that he does have another side to him and he does love her and he is so sorry about what he did. Girl your storm descriptions and ALL your descriptions are off the chain! I love it. The storm spitting its fury. No one tries to write that well. It's amazeballs! I'm a little bit in love with Jarod now just like my namesake is because he let Cate's fears work themselves out . He's not one of those throw a kid in the river if it's scared of water and can't swim kind of dads and I'm glad. I think he's learned a thing or two by being a father and it can only help him with Parker.

Can't stop laughing at Julian's humor about his death. Julian arguments that use Jarod's arguments against Jarodd were accurate and very damning and telling. Jarod avenged his kidnapping and others and then did the very thing he most despised. He did things like that on the tv series too. I like how closely you stay with the series. This feels like home to me. I love this story and these characters.

Wow so you came up with a title for the chapter on the fly? Impressive. It usually takes me some time to think up one fitting enough and it's complicated and then I end up not sharing the story at all lol and then I come to this fandom and read Pretender fiction lol. I like that Jarod is being so therapisty like with her trying to get her to tell him and not leading her and her comment about quakerylore lol. She doesn't let him control her tho and still goes out for some time by herself and I totes love what she said about her decisions are hers and she will make them even if they are the wrong decisions. Hear her roar. So powerful and an empowering message. Makes my militant feminist heart pound harder. Unexpected but beautiful scene between Jarod and Margaret.

Thank you milady for not rewriting anything. Someone needs to rewrite the last three years and that evil thing wouldn't be in the white house loo now ragetweeting lol. I LOVE that Ethan gave Jarod some sound advice and was very much like Jarod. The characters.. I see them when you write them and hear them. Ouch! "Hostage situation." Totes accurate tho. My namesake and Jarod are both alphas and locked horns for a while but their feelings for each other have smoothed out the rough edges on them both in relation to eaach other. You writing is too addictive Mirage.

So yah Jarod is going to overreact. He's feeling really guilty for abducting and sedating Parker MP and is expecting the worst. Not minimizing what happened to Parker or anything. His concern makes all of this all the more plausible. They've grown so much from the characters I knew from tv and I'm so glad and very pleased with your abilities. You do my namesake incredible justice.

Young lady that took an unexpected turn. This is beautiful. They didn't do the rip each other's clothes off mambo. In this story with their pain and struggles right now they needed to like you said cling to each other. They are broken a bit and I can't explain. If I were you I'd be able to articulate my thoughts.
This intimate scene doesn't have the usual heat and that's good and appropriate. It isn't meant to. This came from another direction, a deeper direction. I think this was so intimate and meaningful for them that even we the witnesses to their decades long saga aren't allowed to see their entire lovemaking scene. We're like kids eavesdropping and we know the adults are making noises and doing stuff but we can't really see what all is happening in there. I'm still not going to accuse of you being a Jarod/Parker shipper but Mirage I think we all really want to. How about we crown you an honorary shipper? Don't kill me please.
Bravo. You're going to update this aren't you? I binge-read this, stayed inside when I should have been on my electra glide in the countryside. Please update.
