There you are! Don't scare me like that again and disappear for so long. I really missed you. But oh, this was worth the wait. I love the struggle Jarod's dealing with here. The dilemma was always more black and white before he realized the woman was the mother of his child and had been victimized at some point in her life. Seeing him go from one extreme with her to the other has been fascinating and the time passage too and how they've transformed to reach this place. In the beginning chapters he's phsyically trying to subdue her to get info and then losing control and kissing her and now he's all the way on the other side of that spectrum with those memories haunting him in light of what he's discovered. You're a genius Mirage. It's true even in RL out here than some men have to become fathers to see the error of their own ways. I don't think Jarod's exactly in that group but I think it's more a fear of losing control again? Maybe? Or guilt? Whatever the case I love it. So much is open to interpretation but it's so poignant and every line ... I love dissecting and anaylsing. Human nature and you never fail to explore it so deeply, even the ugliness. It's real. It's so real. You're amazing. Please update again soon. I'll be patient.

"No one is going to break anything" Jarod said to his mother ... I read the new chapter first and then went back and saw that. Foreshadowing. He's afraid he'll break Miss P. Ahhhh Mirage I love this.

Impressive as always Mirage. I've got chills. These characters are real enough to touch, the sotry is amazing and the writing is ... what are you doing in fanfic? You could be making money. Don't you know that?

The way they muse about their feelings for each other without voicing them but still not being afraid of them. That was a tense moment when she said, "when you look at me like that" and I want to know more about that young lady. Hurry and type. Please for the love of GOD don't stop now Mirage.

What I don't get is how you still know exactly how Jarod is supposed to act and behave and frown. Girl have you been like studying Michael T Weiss or somethink? I know you're naturally gifted and a wordsmith and all that but it's unnaturally wonderful the way you write him. You do that with all the characters.. fill them in and breathe life into him. I'm eternally impressed with your talents Mirage. Will Jarod be sex coaching Parker in future chapters? I do hope so. I don't expect it in the next chapter...so don't worry or anything that we're all hungry for the hot stuff. I'll just go back and read Circles Of Hell and Nemesis...the chapter titled Lucidity that is the hottest sex scene eva! The transition has been done well and they are moving forward. Parker is stubborn and would want to ignore the trauma. I like that Jarod knew she wanted stress sex and I can see his doubts because she says sex and he says make love. Plus in chapter 2 of part 5 she said wrong when talking about them. Thanks for not just having them together and ingoring the past and them going on like this wouldn't be complicated. They were mean to each other so many times on the tv show and just being chased by her and the lies her father told her...all of that...it's just so complicated. You write them beautifully, so naturally. Why aren't you writing the novels? Booey all that. You are writing the official story as far as I'm concerned. Just please keep writing.

This story is akin to riding a rollercoaster.  Miss Parker and Jarod have so many repressed emotions. Both in regards to each other as well as others. I really applaud how you bring them to life!

It's not at all hard to believe that Jarod wouldn't consider himself an adult. He barely has a childhood much less an adolescence. I'm not sure MP did either. As I said they are two emotionalbasket cases.

Mirage, I cannot thank  you enough for writing and updating. This as  well as your other stories on this site. You keep 'The Pretender' alive for me. You breathe new life into Miss Parker and Jarod. I'm very grateful for that.

Ok so wow. I bet you didn't know all this #metoo stuff would be trendy when you began writing this months ago did you? Weinstein, Pussy Grabber - in -chief...the reality tv celebrity, and all the hollywood elite men and how they are all sexual predators... so here we are. And I see what you've done here. So many people who aren't #meToo are saying women should have come forward earlier...but some of them might not remember being sexual abused or assaulted and people disassociate and repress and are in denial or don't understand or won't admit that what happened to them is a violation.  Mirage this is everything to me and #meToo and because she is Miss Parker she wants to be stronger and already said she didn't like the way it made her feel in a previous chapter to have remembered being so frightened. Just...god... thank you.  The writing is amazing and thought provoking and she is out of her depth here and I the way you wrote Jarod...oh my GOD! The entire time I'm visualizing Michael T Weiss in all his sweet Jarod-tabulous glory and really, with someone like Parker a man would need to be a sex coach , sex therapist, shrink, and body master lol they are perfectly in character and I love Cate..

It's always impossible for me to predict the direction your stories will take. This chapter was surprising, pleasantly so. The way Parker discovered that Jarod had some knowledge even if vague of the man who abused her was brilliant. An argument, files brushed off the table without Jarod's knowledge. You resolved a couple of things, 1 was the argument they were having and 2 a way for them both to aware of the abuse, Whitman. It was a stroke of genius.

They didn't have the extreme and painful talk about this that I was hoping for but what you gave me was perhaps more enjoyable and plausible. She told him the truth without prompting from him and she has done that in the past so it's very much in keeping with her character. More importantly tho she told him how she felt and why she didn't want to talk about it and I think that's more difficult to confide and I wouldn't have thought of that or for Parker to be so specific. Such an authentic Miss Parker, Mirage.

Your way isn't always the way I prefer but I think yours is more realistic and by far more in character. I've never seen anyone write the characters so in character.

Good of Jarod to tell her not to torture herself, to try to shift the blame from her and good of him to be strong enough not to go to her or sleep with her. I think realistically if they had slept together then they wouldn't have become more serious. Given the history they have to be careful. Thanks as always Mirage. You're a pleasure to read.
