The cuteness ensues and I'm here for it. He watched her when they made love too?! BOTH times?!!!
You didn't show us that sex but I get it. I know you hate writing that part but please remember how much we love and live to read that part.
Everything was going well until they went downstairs and saw Sydney. They don't want to delay their relationship and lives but they also still have some painful issues to talk about and although they are already talking it's going to take a while to resolve things.
I think Sydney's additional confessions caught them both off guard and Parker wanted to silence and repress but Jarod wants to hear more and get to the truth and it seems that he suspected some of this back when he met with lyle and took that painting. Lyles warning about Parker and Lyle's concern had to confuse Jarod and make him wonder about what else might have happened.
It's dark stuff Mirage and definitely plausible. You really fill in the blanks that the TV series left behind, and you make the tv series make sense.
It can't be easy.

Impressive as always Mirage.
I'm glad that Jarod is disgusted, and rightfully so, about those sexuality simulations that she was involved in, and especially those that also involved him.
Even as devastated as Jarod is, and even though he's trying to outrun the vomit he still asks to make sure she'll be ok left alone with Sydney. The trust is broken. I have to wonder if Jarod can get past what Sydney has done. I can't blame him if he can't get past it.
It's telling, too, that if Jarod had taken on all of the abuse alone he wouldn't have reacted this way. It's because that Parker was hurt by Sydney's actions that Jarod is so angry and hurt.
SO many insights, so much emotion. I love your writing. I love the details, the characterisations. Please update soon, as soon as you can.

Oh woot woot! I'm so in love with the way Jarod is so in love with Parker. You capture the essence of the series, the behaviors and expressions that make them who they are and make me so addicted to them. You have that certain special something that some authors have, that quality of keep the characters in their places and in character and being able to capture and hold my attention. I'm so addicted. I can't get enough.

Where to begin to say how much I love this!?
I love that those drugs explain the changes in Parker's personality and also explain the ulcer health problems.
We know now that stress can possibly aggravate ulcer but doesn't cause them. I was beginning to think that she changed towards Jarod because he either raped or sexually assaulted her or her father made her think he did..why else need that gun so much ..and hate him so much but by ioth she wasn't hating him so much ...
Your explanation in this story fits well and allows me to still like Jarod .
Raines perverting Sydney's work explains everyting too.

I'm relieved that they didn't worry about blood testing and decided to choose each other.
Sydney's drug was named the original Greek Katherine and I love that personal touch.
I think Jarod is gonna have major issues trying to accept that he was sometimes spared while parker was sacrificed.
He always struggles when people are hurt because of him, handles it worse than if he were the one suffering.
I'm so stoked for more.

It's ok. I'm ok. Really really seriously no really I'm ok. Just deprived of seeing my 2 fav characters haz teh sex. They never did it on screen either. It's so disappointing. I guess... not that they would show them actually having sex on screen either, unless it was on HBO or something, or full porno! But the emotional and physical aspects of sex that you infuse into the sex scenes blow my freaking mind and with talent like that of yours Mirage you should use it to please us sex starved fans! It's like watching the characters ... even I dare say the actors .. have sex when I read your sex parts because you write them so well and the act so freaking well.

Did the couple decide not to let possibly being father and daughter get in their way? I'm ok with that. He wasn't her father, even if he was her bio father. He just wasn't. So if they shrugged it off and middle fingered propiety I'm all good. I want them together, having sex, and I don't care how related they are to each other by blood.

Oh, stunning work, Mirage. It's profound that Jarod would get upset to the point of vomiting over what happened to Parker but not himself. From a genius's perspective he knows he can handle anything and he isn't wrong when contrasting that to Parker. We already we see that Parker handles things by drinking excessively (in the series) and avoiding Jarod ..she did that on the series and in this story.
It wasn't the potential incest thing that drove Jarod to his knees or his past pain at Sydneys hands, it was Parker's pain. He began feeling ill since meeting with Lyle and hearing lyle talk about Parker, voice concerns for her. I think Jarod has been dreading learning that worse things happened to Parker. He loves her obviously and would react that way. It's plausible, in character. Everyone is in character.

I would love to see an out-take or alternate out-take of the story where Parker was visiting Syd and family years ago and Jarod made one of his surprise visits and see the pair's reaction. That is heavy on my mind. If you ever have time to do that and want to do that I would love to read it.

I can't even think right now. I love this. LOVE! I kind of want them to be daughter and father now. It's the Centre so you definitely didn't strain plausibility. It IS possible.
I love how Jarod stepped heavily intentionally so as not to suprise her. He seemed to do that all of the time during the tv series. I love the scenery. You always describe the scenery and ... I love your descriptive work. It's beautiful and lends to the story and reading and watching experience. You know exactly the perfect amount to add.
I love how comfortable they are with each other, the way she acted like she hadn't heard him and was ignoring him. So adorable. I love them this way.

Oo o Long time fiction incest fan here. I ship Lyle and Parker as a rule but I quite like the idea of Centre tinkering to make this father/daughter ship possible. You make it make sense for me. Yes, please and thank you to Parker/Jarod being daughter/father and together. It makes sense. He's always kind of parented her, nurtured her, particularly in Wake Up when she was struggling and not coping in healthy ways. Jarod has been more of a father to her than her father for sure. This is unexpected and brilliant.

I love the logic you apply to even the most romantic ideals, and it's Sydney, and he is a scientist. If it was all inflated purple prose it wouldn't be plausible but you write from a more realistic perspective that lends plausibility and readability.
"it had taken simply that long for life to align with desires, catch up with their hearts, meet them exactly where they'd always longed to be."
Timing and circumstances can keep people apart despite the strength of love and it's a running theme of the pretender series for most characters, including Jarod and Miss Parker and when we get to that part of this story we see a parallel of lives and stories and you brilliantly intersect those lives, and continue what we already know to be true.
Your voice is powerful. You fascinate me with your skills .
