I'm thrilled to find that this fandom still exists, and that there is a page like this, and that you've written an entire series.

I've enjoyed every moment of this, and I'm still surprised by the nostalgia that reading this has brought back.

I'd forgotten how much I love this old tv show. I eagerly await the next installment. Until that happens, I hope you've written at least one other story I can read while I wait.

Top notch mate! This is a tight chapter and this series could easily be a continuation of The Pretender. I probably say that about all of your writing. You have a real understanding of the characters and The Pretender. It feels like home reading you.

Yes, wow, I love that Jarod is very clearly looking at Parker, watching her reactions, guaging her anxiety and behavior but still not really absorbing the fact that she was unpacking until a little later on. That's how intense things are for them right now. You made it clear that he was looking at, watching her unpack, but he didn't even see her unpacking. He was watching her try to deal with everything he was saying to her.

PHEWWW. Damn. You are good. I can feel the stress from here. I want more. It's always so intense with them on the tv series. You capture that. The way they know each other so well and still don't always know everything so welll. You know these characters. Please never stop writing.

What is there to say?!!! I love it. Oomph! Jarod's "Don't you?" When he gets that way my insides shift or something, and even Parker, poor woman, is all breathy laugh and I think she feels it too, feels the same way that we all feel AND DON'T SAY YOU DON'T FEEL THAT WAY BECAUSE YOU WRITE IT DEAD ON PERFECT RIGHT ON THE NOSE JUST LIKE YOU'RE FEELING IT ALONG WITH THE REST OF US. lol but no really, you can't pretend you're immune to Jarod.

I need more. I need it NOW.

Oh wowza GODDESSES I love it. Jarod. He's in big time love with Parker. He craves honesty and also craves doing the right thing. Sometimes, like here, he was able to do both, honesty to an extent but fully the right thing.

The way she doubts herself because she thinks Broots doesn't trust her. The way Jarod reassures her again. Oh, god. I love this story. Like all of your stories there's such a ... I dunno like a cohesiveness, and you maintain continuity so welll. You have it on a really short leash. It's so impressive. I CRAVE more.

Title: The Return (Part VI: A Different Kind of Freedom)

Oh, wow, I love this chapter, and I'm so glad you're back among us. This one is really poignant, with Parker sharing, still with some prompting by Jarod. I think her "helluva lot more than I want to" is really telling, and Jarod's probably going to be thinking a lot about that in the coming weeks.

Thank you for having Jarod call himself out for his past behavior. That was such a hypocrite move by him when he criticized her for knowing nothing about family or wanting to have a family... when he knows she had no way of knowning what family really is, and why, after witinessing all of that domestic violence, would she want to start a family, and especially when Catherine accidentally normalized domestic violence.

He criticized her so much for trusting her father and then said that to her, which is basically canon because he had many displays of hypocrisy on my DVDs.

Then he kisses her and commits adultery after criticizing that way.

This is real character growth, it's real emotional growth, it's self-awareness and god knows Jarod needed a dose of that.

You seem to understand how necessary it is to resolve past resentments, take some responsibility so that it doesn't keep bubbling back up.

I love that she continues to insist he's a shrink, and he continues to insists he isn't. She did that during one of the Camelot chapters too I believe and he tried to assure her that he was a paleopathologist and lol she isn't buying it. And she shouldn't.

He's still Jarod. He can be a shrink therefore he is a shrink. That's just how the Pretenderverse rolls.

Thank you for continuing to write and go deep. I thrive on the profundity. The deeper you go into this the more awed and addicted I become.

Title: The Return (Part VI: A Different Kind of Freedom)

Thank you for continuing the story, and doing it plausibly, and I love your voice in this, the continuing narration that I recognize.

There was an author in a different fandom I once loved and they're using ai now and it erased their voice and the stories have no soul.

Please, however long it takes you, keep writing with your voice. I'll be here to read and review each update.

You always toss a twist, always have so much moxie and tenacity. You always let Jarod do his thing, like he just did with the ammo can.

His "don't you?" is oomphf.

grips the tits as grammie used to say lol. But that's the Jarod I know and recognize from The Pretender DVDs . He does that. He mellows it with her later, but stays impassioned telling her he knows she'd never do anything to hurt their child and omg and then mellows more with Parker by suggesting they simply keep loving Cate and having fun. By saying "let's keep doing that" ei having fun he's also telling Parker he has no intention of 'shrinking' her, after already answering her earlier question about what happens next with "only what you want to happen" and can I say how much I love this story and their changing relationship. It's happening slowly like it's supposed to, naturally, sweetly even if sometimes painfully.

Parker is still Parker too. She's always had this vulnerability. Now she doesn't have to pretend it away or cover it up with the macho bitch act.

Thank you for writing, sharing, your voice, your effort, time, and for being you.

Oh my goodness. This is amazing. And I've missed you so much!

Are you ok? Are things ok with you? Where have you been?

Please don't leave us for so long again.

Jarod is so loving with her, and our Miss Parker is still so much our Miss Parker, just now she's a Miss Parker who is finally being true to herself. It's what I've needed to see so long. Thank you. I know I'll never get to WATCH it on my tv but I get to SEE it in my head when I read you.

That means the world to me. Thank you.

Big hugs to you and lots of love.

Take care of yourself, my dear fandomly sister in the Pretenderverse.

O vey. Ope, hold up, now, the Queen of Darkness, the ANTI-Jarod, the NOT-a-Jarod/MP shipper is writing all of this? 4 real?

I'm kidding tho, but 4 real, when I first heard of you I was convinced you hated Jarod but you don't seem to hate Jarod.

You wrote some darkJarod stuff, but Jarod is dark so it makes sense. Everything you've written has been plausible, even the Xdark Jarod stories.
Anyhoo, I'm in love with this story and how close they are here.

Pretender Perfect.

Oh, man, babygirl you've been missed. A reminder to perservere when I need it most. Thank you for that.

Aww squee Jarod calling them a family, 'it'll never happen to this family.'

Oh, bless.

I accidentally clicked submit before I had completed my typicing. As I was saying BRAVO! I love this. Real progress and so much character development and growth here.

A. I have to say right off that I love how Jarod was so distraught by Parker's nonreaction to the ammo can that he looked right at Parker and watched her unpacking Cate's belongings and still didn't really see Parker doing it.

It's only later that he is upset that she is taking on the full responsibility of unpacking Cate's belongings all by herself. THat was a really subtle.... oooh, it's really nuanced. Genuis of you.

I love that he seems sickened by the assumed roles.

They can't break the abuse cycles taught to Parker by her parents, by her father really as her mother only accidentally normalized the abuse, by continuing the partriarchy's assumed gender roles and dutiies.

I didn't always see the problem with patriarchy. I'm a man. I wouldn't see a problem with it because as a man it's never been a problem for me... I'm thinking ahead and I guess you would point out that it's a problem for me, too, because of the burden of expectations on me as a man to perform according to what society thinks a man should be and do ... yeah, you'd be right. There's a burden for all involved. And I do wonder what you'd say about that, too.

B. Parker is really opening up more to Jarod and maybe even taking comfort in Jarod's really simplistic approach to what is probably terrifying for them both. Parenthood.  "Let's keep doing that." They already love her, they're already letting the child play and have fun.. which is shout out really to Parker asking the clone in season 3 if he wanted to play, have fun, like normal kids. And the thing we all have to remember is that she didn't get to play and have fun or have pets like normal kids either, but there she was eaten alive from the inside out by guilt.

C. I love the continuinity, that you continue the story we already know and love so well.

ABC.

THat simple.

I love this chapter.

Please continue writing and sharing. You brighten my life.

Until next time, Mirage...

Ciao!!

HEYyy! I love this. OMG I love it and it's so damn professionally written, and DAMN plausibly written. I'm so glad you're not gone. We HAVE to keep the fandom alive forever!

Perserverence for real. So appropriate! I think we're all perservering as best we can, and I guess I love that my favorite characters are struggling too, right along with me, and I think my life is pretty rough but I think having a kid dropped into my lap, being told it's mine and that I have to try not to mess it up would be worse, which is why I vote for people who will keep abortion legal. I WOULD MESS IT UP.

I'm so underbabied and I so love it. I'm also underbrain-wormed and that's why I'm smart enough to know that the world is so overpopulated already. Dude, I'm all good. That must have been one FAT worm when it finally died. No more brain left.

Please continue this. Pllease continue your other stories. Please write new stories. Please share share share always. Never leave! I want this to be your Hotel California lol I'm kidding but I'm not really kidding.

I hope you're well.

Thank you for sharing!

We haven't heard from you since November of 2025, am starting to worry that you're abandoning us.
