This story is completely AU, not because it changes any canon but because it's something that simply wouldn't or couldn't have happened. It's not set in any particular time, though it could possibly be sometime in the second or third seasons. It was originally intended to follow the character development of Sydney through the four seasons, but it rather developed on its own.
