They weren't buying it. He could see it in Miss Parker's narrowing eyes, in Sydney's tilted head, in Lyle's guarded attitude, they all looked like big cats following the scent coming from a baited trap. They knew something was up and still they carried on, unable to stop. More cautious than usual perhaps, but it didn't matter, all he had to do was wait and keep the bait fresh and compelling.
