I’m Addicted

To chasing you; hunting you; killing you.

This was never the life she imagined for herself: nearly 40, no partner or children, new family routinely dropping from the family tree, and chases an errant pretender. An errant pretender who delights in tormenting her in various ways – such as deliberately shaking said family tree.

She’s sure few others have dealt with such burdens; felt their whole life is onus – obligation.

Some days the desire to leave is all she can feel. Leave. Take back your life.

But--

--some days she truly feels the huntress. The gun in her hands is power over life and death and it’s truly beautiful. Some days she wouldn’t give it up for anything.
