Who is the man in the yellow hat?

It’s intriguing how Jarod can see himself in a children’s book.

He hears Miss Parker’s voice in his head, speaking the words he won’t let himself speak. Oh, come on, Sydney. Stop using your clinical detachment to keep you from seeing what Jarod is really saying. He doesn’t want you to be fascinated by how his mind works. He wants you to see how he sees you. Through the lens of Stockholm Syndrome, Syd. You’re his jailer, Syd. You’re his kidnapper.

Stubbornly his mind retreats behind his yellow hat. It’s intriguing how Jarod can see himself in a children’s book.
