Their lips met and what should have been a kiss of hope suddenly stood for everything that was wrong in the world. It was despair and it was death; it told the tale of souls forever doomed, and how all that was meant to be never would.
 
It was sad and void of all hope and in her language, she was saying don’t make me hurt you. And for the first time he realised that she didn’t want to, and that he had never been the only one wishing things were different.
