Title: Part One: The Show

Kudos to the author of this guide for being able to put so much detail in stringing together all those plots and paths the show has led us down. It was a really gripping read and you had my attention until the end... which is an achievement in itself considering the length of this guide. It was an a thought provoking read and by the end of it… it did make me realise that yes while the show did have some of those inconsistencies that you mentioned, as Pretender fans we still cannot help ourselves but to just love the show for what it is even with all of its faults because they are just minor in the scope of what it is and what it represents, for example the notions of belonging and justice as well as injustice at the very same time, it could be the fact that it’s perfectly imperfect… we don’t need it to be free of imperfections we just need it to keep our minds stimulated, alert and active and that is what the Pretender series did best with all of these plots and the twists. At the end of the day when was a day at the centre ever normal? That’s what makes this show special the fact that it was not “normal”… nothing about it was.

Title: Part Three: The Fandom

I barely died of laughter reading this ! It's 1 a.M. and I burst of laugh in my bed ! I'd never think that there is actually so much people in TP fandom that have so much humour ! I love it, seriously it made my lousy day !

I wished everything were update, but apparently it's not, and I have the weird feeling that it's never gonna be. But maybe it's not that bad, I could have ever sleep if it was longer ! I just want to concragulate the author of that guide, that I'll for sure read again, and thank that person to have help me to understand some ascpect of the show.

I'm a lonely one in my generation to read fanfiction of TP (I'm 17 you see), so I kinda go there on my own since I'm 13 and sometimes I wished somebody have guide me to avoid father-of-the-ten-thousand!Jarod, or incestious stories. (Yep, reading that at 14 -I didn't knew where the story where going, no names where mentionned, I really tought it was MP or Jarod sleeping with some random people, not actually MP and Lyle having sex WTF !- doesn't help to a stable mental heath).

Anyways, I don't know why but everytime I get to "meet" someone into the fandom, or this person is a saddening bore, or we both don't understand each other because ours combined levels in english suck as shit, or this person has no a once of second degree about the show, or no humour, or just want to talk about how much Andrea Parker is pretty, or reads too much fanfiction with Must-save-Parker!Jarod/Baby Parker fic of the Apocalypse, so I can't tell anything against MP or Jarod "because you see, he has chocolate eyes, and her heart is traped under ice you see, but the ice will melt, thank's to his warms arms around her, and they'll raise they Baby Parker together you see, because it's their genetical child you see, because for real she's sweet you see, she has a lot to offers you see, because he loves her and needs her, as much as she does you see", or the people I meet just want to know in which episode Jarod where a cop, or in which one Parker had a bunny, or in which one Broots startles, or in which one Sydney stared at MP to make her talk a little more (IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, how can I know what's in your head !). In I didn't meet so much people that I just described, because it happened that manies caracteristics were combined in the SAME person ! So I don't talk so much to the others fans, and discovering that there is someone that I could actually appreciate because of communs point of views about the show gives me hope to find someone that could respond well to my bizarre humour.

With all my love and gratitude,

Rosscan.

Title: Part Two: The Movies

I love this!  But I'm confused--where is the bit on Isle of the Haunted?  There's so much humor potential in that one!

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh my, I just about died of laughter reading this!  Family math, the "chick in the coffin", the most complicated death ever, Debbie's brilliant growing-up trick (and I had totally forgotten about that!) . . . and the SCROLLS!  Oh man, the scrolls . . . *collapses in giggles yet again*  And the ways to die . . .  *can barely breathe*

Title: Part Three: The Fandom

Oh this was just great!

I laughed, I cried (though the crying was more due to the fact that I chocked on my sandwich from laughing so hard). But most of all I recognized both myself, the fandom and our beloved Pretender in just about everything you wrote.

Sometimes we hate it, most of the time we love it, and somehow you managed to gather all our reasons into one hilarious guide.

Title: Part Three: The Fandom

I agree with your first reviewer. There were times I laughed, there were times I cried and to be honest, there were times I frowned... Do you actually like PRETENDER? Because, as a fan, I don't really care that there are way too many plot holes to count and that the writers never learned the meaning of coherence. I just love all these disfunctional characters!!! And you may shoot me if it pleases you, but I kinda of liked IOTH. Anyway, about the fandom, I wholeheartely agree. Some people write fanfics that have no resemblance to the show at all and quite honestly the whole 'Lyle's actually a good guy' annoys me to no end. He's ebil! But no matter how many stories there are with inumerous children, strange family connections and sudden happy endings, there are really well writen stories out there and you shouldn't generalize. ANd yes, I did read the HUMOUR part, but I just felt like speaking my mind (cause you don't know where I live and any physical violence against me is unlikely to occur) So here it is. I had I good laugh and, unless you were serious, you have a keen sense of humor and knows your sarcasm. I just hope no one who is a PRETENDER virgin reads this, because they would be traumatized for life and would run away screaming if presented with THE DVD. That said, good manual....

Author's Response: I mock because I love. So imagine just how much I love ;)

IotH wasn't all bad. I'm just slighty bitter after I read an article about how they planned for 5 movies and then decided nah, screw the solution thing, we'll try and give more questions so we'll get more movies. Great plan, guys.

Definitely all joking. Like I said, I mock because I love. If I hated I wouldn't bother at all :)

Glad you found it amusing ^^

Ahh! Blade, that was great!! I laughed, I cried, I cut and pasted bits into messenger to show people! I thought I was all on my own as my extreme love for the show turned to a bit of 'are they serious??'. But all at the same time couldn't shake the addiction. Love it, well done!
