Title: Gone (Part III)

You injected some humor again with the DJ losing the plot, wanting to play music he likes and not the easy listening tehehee. Even kids your age recognize a good song in Cat Stevens' how can I tell you. Right?  This song would work for a Pretender vid too. Jarod. Always hungry. Screaming microwaves. Tehehee.

Screaming microwaves lol. "I've seen the movies. I know what men like you get up to." Please tell me that's a reference to Weiss's other movies because it should be. Magdalena even says "juicy" and my first thought was that movie Iowa because he says that word too in that movie. I didn't even pick up on that during my first reading of this story. I did blow through it like a junkie with a drug tho because I can't wait to know what will happen. "Gotta fan the ladies." lol. An aunt of mine referred to her breasts as ladies. So funny. Old people are so funny.

Great story so far, I just got caught up on it all and I'm hooked! I like that Jarod and Miss Parkers skills are (to a certain point) evenly matched. So many Pretender stories barely give MP a chance, J is always ten steps ahead. Even though he was here too for some time, she caught up. And I like that Parker doesn't let him get away with his puppeteer complex! And Kyle/Parker!!! Wow!

I couldn't stop laughing. "Someone has a wicked sense of humor."

I think you have a wicked sense of humor, Mirage, and I wouldn't want it any other way. This was fantastic for many reasons that I won't go into here. I feel that I would bore you to tears. The characterisations were on point. I haven't read any author who writes them as accurately as you do. I've said before it's scary how well you write. It's a pleasurable journey to read you. An experience to be treasured. Your original characters are second to none. Thank you for this.

Until next time...

Ciao.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and reviewing. No one ever tells me I'm wicked offline. I must here come more often.

Congrats! WOW I love all those old songs. I love Cat Stevens, Christopher Cross, Abba and Roberta Flack. I love that those songs were playing. I can imagine the intensity in that truck between Jarod and Missy Parker. I'm sure the new songs are good too. Dave Matthews lyrics really seemed to fit for them and I'll have to check them out. YOu did a great job putting us in that truck with Jarod and Missy and threading the music through the scene was top notch.

Your descriptive is high quality. I love it. You are so obviously talented. Breeze block...I googled it https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/dd/71/5e/dd715e7e5f9a275e2e1e66731ac6c314.jpg

The feeling I get looking at breeze block is....weird. I've never seen it before or heard of it. Seeing it helped me get the atmosphere of where they were.

Jarod watching the soaps... wow. I couldn't stop laughing and it's not far fetched at all because on some soaps the woman does sleep with and MARRY all the men in the family. It's more funny when I remember that he was Dr. Mike on a soap. So you still don't watch soaps...I remember a review response where you said you never watched them but you overheard them a few times? I hope I'm not misquoting. Please update all of your fics soon. I'd like to read more Devil's Advocate too.

Author's Response:

Oh, no. You were not misquoting. No, I still don't watch them. To be fair: I don't watch television. I will update them all soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Amelia.

Keeps getting better and better. I like that they are communicating and that even though you have that Jarod thing you don't constantly have him emasculated. Can't rate it anything but a ten. I give you more if I could. Love your work.

Author's Response:

Hi, and thank you for reading and reviewing, Monica_Bitch. Miss Parker does emasculate him occasionally (I wouldn't dare).

Happy dance! Very eloquent as always. I love how in character they are. No one writes them quite like Mirage writes them.  Thank you so much. More please?

Squee! Mirage update is instant happiness. You do know that you could update every day for us and I'd be happy every day? We know you want to make us happy? Don't you Mirage? Don't you want to make me happy every single day? Don't you don't you don't you?

Author's Response:

Yes, yes, Jen. I want you to be happy. I'd update them all if I had the time. My apologies. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

WOW! Ok the thing I love most about your stories is they don't stall or bog down ever and that you keep the characters exactly in character and it's all plausible.  I just read this entire story and then noticed the chapter title Traffic and how it ties in with the first chapter where JR's mother sees that the town is uncluttered by traffic. The theme here is missing children, beginning with JR...who is the reason Jarod came back. MY GOD! Mirage you are a genius. I just love reading you. I want more. Right Now. Please?

Yay! Ooh oohhh Mirage Mirage. That was amazing. You surpass your own writing and that can't be easy. I loved this chapter! Magdalena was wonderful. I'd love to chat with her for hours.

Jarod to Miss Parker- 'you can't ignore me forever' and seeing her reaction ,'that wasn't a challenge' lol. Brilliant. I love you!

I've said it before it it bears repeating. You are the only reason I still check into this site. I deeply appreciate that you continue to write Pretender fiction and even more so that you updated fairly regularly.

This chapter was quite humorous. Miss Parker and Jarod have a definite love/hate relationship. The different songs wove into this chapter seamlessly.

As always thank you for keeping the characters alive.

Oooh ooh my heart Mirage! I love the way you write them. They are very much in character & exactly as I remember them. This could easily be an episode. I love how this began as a rescue and then all the complications that would arise from the fall out led Jarod and Miss Parker to here.

This line... 'the silence was louder than any lie the Centre had told them' is so profound.

It's all on them the mess they are making now and they can no longer blame her father or the Centre. This Magdalena character is hilarious. I love her so much. You create the best original characters I've ever met. I love Dave Matthews. Those songs were all fitting.

Thank you for this. It's such a pleasure to read you.
