You handle Centre politics with ease. So strange to see Jarod in control. It's a good look for him.
Miss Parker redeems herself but doesn't really. We know she's a softy.

Oooh ooh! It continues with Jarod so confident and Parker so baffled.
"I am armed and not only am I leaving the Centre," he continued softly, sidling closer and fashioning a conspiratorial leer, "I'm taking you with me."
Parker drew a breath, pressed her lips together in a tight line. She shuddered in anger and rolled her eyes at his toothy grin, "Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on or-"
"Or." Jarod interrupted brusquely, peremptorily, and then pulled open the board room door. "After you, Miss Parker." He said amiably."
No, Miss Parker isn't bad at all. Kyle is so right. ;)

Hello Mirage. It is always a pleasure to read an update from you! And so soon after you updated The Return! Thank you as always for both writing and updating your many fan fics on this page. You have said before that you are 'just' a fan fiction writer and not a 'real' writer but I continue to disagree! You have kept The Pretender alive for me and entertained me for years with your various stories. That makes you a writer!
Besides considering that two former fan fiction writers have achieved success on the 'real' world and yet another (writing about One Direction no less) is poised to do so, so can YOU! At the very least Steven and Craig need to employ you on some capacity or at least make you a character in the next novel!
Anyhow, enough with the flattery (albeit most sincerely meant). This was another great chapter! I so wanted Miss Parker to kick that womans ASS! And Kyle's come to think of it. Perhaps Jarod as well. Lyle was right she is beautiful when she is angry and I suspect of Jarod doesn't give her some answers soon...watch out!
As always you wrote Jarod and Parker so richly with all their many nuances! It's why I love coming on here and finding an update from you! Looking forward to the next chapter and to your other story continuations as well.

I love reading about Kyle, actually. Maybe because whenever I read his name I still imagine Michael Westen pointing a gun at someone and pretending to be one of his made up covers. It's nice to see him interacting with Jarod, and Parker.
I'm looking forward to see where this takes us. And I hope it takes us to somewhere safe and positive, as I asked you before ;)
And I particularly loved this line:
