Title: Expecting Sympathy From the Wounded

I liked the way this was written, but I have a few qualms regarding some of Mr. Lyle's behavior. Though it's assumable that he may grieve the loss of his mother, I don't think he would react so drastically - embrace the bottle, so to say.

In any case, as Lyle uses a nice-guy facade to hide the fact that he's a monster, so can he use the monster facade to hide the fact that he has feelings for some people.

Great job chopsticks! A wonderful Lyle-centric piece. I particularly love your use of brackets as well as the general tone of the story, both deeply personal and at the same time oddly detached, a nice reflection of Mr Lyle himself! Congratulationd!

Title: Expecting Sympathy From the Wounded

Another fantastic insight into our dear Mr Lyle! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it does seem plausible that even after Lyle drove his adoptive mother insane, he would feeling *something* when he learned that she was dead. He did get rather upset in RRJ when Jarod told him he had seen her. This is Lyle at his complex-best, well done!
