Title: Chapter 2 - La Vita Nuova

Oh my god! Miss Parker hurling heavy objects at Jarod while he is busy reciting poetry in Klingon to a cheering crowd. Well.... I AM ABSOLUTELY LOVING THIS!!!!

I don't think I have enjoyed myself that much in ages. Thank you for that perfect little story that combined profound knowledge of Star Trek (I know what I am talking about ;-P), great insight and comedy.

Write more write more!

:-)

Author's Response:

Thanks!  Glad you liked it!

I had one more short chapter just to tie things up, but I'm not happy with it.  As soon as I have some time, I'll tweak it & post it.

Thanks for the feedback - it does get the creative juices flowing.

Oh wormie what a fabulous story! I loved every bit of it and you earn mega_bonus points for including Gemini, well, Joshua. I know nothing of the star-trek universe and had never felt the desire to inquire about it, but thanks to your depiction of the klingon mating ritual I shall certainly have a look now!
Wonderful writing, had me laughing out loud at my screen, thank you so so so much for a great read!

The fic has some very good scenes. Especially when the Borg is afraid of Miss Parker. It was so funny. You portrayed a very good Miss Parker.I'm only familiar with Star Trek Voyager, but I also would have picked MP to be a Klingon. They are strong individuals, they are aggressive…
But I can also see her as Seven of Nine. They are both strong, aggressive, don’t beat around the bush woman. They both are very good at hiding their emotions in frond of other people. They both see emotions as a weakness. I so can hear MP say the word ‘comply’ in staid of ‘as in today’.

For Sydney I would have chosen Tuvok, a Vulcan. They are inward, they give advise, they don’t talk about their feelings.  I also think that Chakotay would also be suitable for Sydney.

Thanks for the laughs!

This was very cool. I was always fascinated by the world of Star Trek, it was entire universe created and populated by wondersous and sometimes not so wonderous creatures.

I have always found it an imaginative playground that like the Pretender fostered others to create and "go where no one has gone before".  How cool is that you that you and Bucky melded the two!

Well done. I look forward to more.

I always wanted to be a fly on a wall at a con.  Now, I'm more curious and of course they are fewer cons! oh well.

Bravo!!!!

That was so much better than my poor attempt. Good for you. You did more research into the Klingon ways. I have to admit it has been years since I was a true fan, and a few years since I watched what used to be one of my favorite shows.

You know, Barclay would have been appropriate for Broots! I didn't think of that until now. Reginald Barclay who had that huge crush on Deanna Troi and formed a holodiction. Sort of reminds me of Broots crush on Parker. And Barclay was very good in enginering.

You did both Trek and Pretender justice with your story. At least-so far- Parker didn't declare a bloodoath! lol.

 Very good job!

May the bat'leth that hangs over your mantel never fall on you head!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the kind words (and I would never classify your inspirational work as "poor"!)  I, too, have not watched any Trek for many years.  Back in the day, though, I was intrigued by Klingon culture (at the time, I had an academic interest in Samurai, too) so it was more a matter of tapping into info in my brain that I hadn't accessed in a while.  I think I actually spent more time researching the poems (which is sooo not my thing) lol.

Barclay!  I had totally forgotten about him!  Yep, he is probably the most like Broots.  Good call. :)

Thank you, again, for taking the gang there in the first place.
