Title: Her Aquitaine

First and foremost: Thank You. This was the fic I have been desperately searching for, but nothing like I thought it would be. It's like this piece evens out some biases in the show, as well as the fandom.

"Miss Parker" as we see her here is all about agency and strength and resiliance that the show tells us she has, but which we rarely get to see as Jarod outwits her, outruns her, orders her about. I love that she finds peace, and love as strong as with Thomas, or maybe stronger, and this time no one can take it from her. It's particularly wonderful that just as her choice to board the plane at the end of Island, she makes important live choices not when someone tellls her to, but when something finally pisses her off too much. Which, here, is the rather sharp observation that Jarod spent several years as a hypocrit.

It's not so much that I love that Jarod loses, though I find it satisfying. But his role in broad sense is a voyeur, and that is a scarily accurate description of his relationship with Miss Parker. Here, that is exactly how he comes across, always watching, witnessing, but so few words and never quite understanding because after all his admonishments he was the one who wouldn't take the risk. It's also lovely that with this role he really IS passive, letting MP define him through her one word.

The ending was hard to read, almost too brutal but that's where they were heading. I love that no one even talks about custody or visitation rights - I don't think they would ever keep Jarod away from Elanor, but I also think he won't go looking, not for years at least. Only partly because he seems to have gone a bit unhinged.

PS: I concur with previous reviews, this was beautiful. The language, the style, the characterizations, the story, the bittersweet ending more bitter than sweet. It's getting harder and harder nowadays to find

I was sick because of the ending, literally sick. Hated it, destroyed the whole fic for me. I truly with I had never encountered this fic and especially wish I had never read it, it ruined my very good mood.

If you think of writing more like this, then please don't write at all.

Beauty doesn't even begin to describe this story.... I don't even want to attempt with mundane words to say how good this was....

Absolutely beatiful. You're use of descriptors was even and not over the top. The rhythm and pacing was just right. And the development of the characters throughout this was well done. One of the better pieces I've read here.
