Title: Hidden Pain

The change in perspective was a nice touch and well executed. Normally, whenever such a gimmick is used, most authors have the tendency to 'tell' more about Jarod or any of the other main characters as if the person who is telling the story would know about those things.

Judy's voice is written in a way that conveys all the emotion, the trauma and the fear without falling into dangerous clichés. It is not an easy topic to write about, especially when there are children involved. KB managed to tell a powerful in just a few words. If only some novels were this good.
