Loved the opening of this, it is hard to imagine getting Parker to take on a teenager any other way. Particularly liked the way Sydney and Parker responded to each other's momentary lapses of reason.

Oh wow, I'm cringing here at just the thought of shackles on an exam table. Great plot, character introduction and you nailed the characters of course. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and all of your stories and I hope you write many, many more!
Author's Response: Thank you for all your nice comments. =) I had to write the part about SL-27- to this day, 10+ years later, I remember absolutely jumping out of my skin when Broots turned that haz-mat suit around and the skeleton bumped agianst the faceplate! =) I'm in the process of writing more Madeline stories, as well as hopefully finishing up a couple more I started but never finished- "Practice Will Eventually Make Perfect" actually deals with those shackles on the exam table and what they potentially could have been used for.

Awesome read! I absolutely LOVE Sydney's reactions to Parker's kindness, also love Miss Parker's reactions to Sydney's comments about Jarod. I HAVE to read the next bit!

Sorry about the ring but maybe you should stop in a Jared's jewerly store some time and see if they have a replacement. ;) I'm sure Jarod owns the chain of stores even if the name is mis-spelled! Probably a thinly veiled ploy to throw Miss Parker and the Centre off his trail. (Big Grin!)

PMSL! =) I do live pretty close to a Jared's (it's the galleria of jewelers)... I'll have to stop in and check (safe to do now that my sister no longer works at their competitor, Beldon's)! And maybe if I'm lucky, Miss P will have seen through the ruse at the perfect time, and be there, too! *faint*

I remember being a big fan of this series when you were writing it. Loved the storyline. Good to see it again. :)
